LIBRARY RULES

1.
The normal
hours of service of the Central Library are as per following:
Central Library
Monday to Friday: 10:30 AM to 05:00 PM
Saturday: 10:30 AM to 02:30 PM
* The
Central Library also gives services beyond College hours from Monday to Saturday:
09:00 AM to 07:00 PM (Except Sundays and Holidays).
2.
The hours
of service of the Departmental Libraries are as per following:
Departmental Libraries
Monday to Friday: 11:00 AM to 04:30 PM
Saturday: 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM
Note: Actually, the Central Library services will be
available 30 minutes after of the opening time and up to 30 minutes before of
the closing time due to opening and closing preparations. In case of abnormal,
urgent or unforeseen circumstances, the Central Library or any of the
Departmental Libraries may be opened later or closed earlier instead of the
scheduled hours at the discretion of the Library Authorities.
LIBRARY FEES AND OTHER CHARGES
A.
VARIOUS CHARGES
i.
Library Caution Deposit (refundable) for the
students of B.A. (Hons.)/ B.Sc. (Hons.)/ B.Com. (Hons.)/ M.A.- Rs. 150/- and for
the students of B.A. (Gen.)/ B.Sc. (Gen.)/ B.Com. (Gen.)- Rs. 100/-
respectively at a time (To be collected at the time of admission).
ii.
Library Fee (non-refundable) for the
students (both UG and PG)- Rs. 80/- for each Academic Session [To be collected
at the time of starting of the Academic Session (s)].
iii.
Identity-Cum-Library Card charges (non-refundable) for
the students (both UG and PG)- Rs. 20/- for each Academic Session [To be
collected at the time of starting of the Academic Session (s)].
B.
RULES FOR
LOAN FROM THE CENTRAL LIBRARY
i.
The Identity-Cum-Library card must be produced on demand.
ii.
Please follow the Central Library website regarding book
limitations and other circulation rules.
iii.
The defaulters will have to pay fine due to late return of the
books @ 50 paise for home issue and @ Rs. 1/- for daily issue respectively per
volume per day.
iv.
The borrower will be responsible for any damage/ defacement/ loss
of book borrowed against his/her Identity-Cum-Library card.
v.
The loss of his/her Identity-Cum-Library card should immediately
be reported to the Principal/Librarian in writing with GD Copy (xerox).
vi.
Duplicate Identity-Cum-Library card will be made only after approval
by the authorities and necessary payment made.
vii.
The Identity-Cum-Library card must be renewal every semester (only
for students).
viii.
The Identity-Cum-Library card is to be returned to the Central
Library at the end of the academic semester/ leaving the College.
ix.
The borrowers shall be responsible for loss, mutilation or damage
of any book (s) borrowed by him/her from the Library. Same new copy/ photocopy
with well-bound of the book (s) is/ are to be replaced or three times current price
will be applied in these cases for each book if not available in the market.
x.
Any type of Library fine (s) will be collected through online mode
of PNB Account with QR Code.
xi.
No late fine will be collected from the Physically Challenged
users.
Note: These
fees structures may be changed time to time as per decision of the College
authority and Library Sub-Committee.
C.
REPROGRAPHIC SECTION-CUM-PRINTING- This section is attached to the Central Library and maintained by
franchise. Users may get xerox and printing facilities from here with
reasonable price. Copyright Rules will be strictly maintained in this Section.
Note: Book (s) issued for xerox purpose should be dealt from the internal counter
of the Reprographic Section-Cum-Printing. User (s) should produce valid Identity-Cum-Library card at the time of issuing these books from
the Circulation Section. Other xerox and printing facilities will be dealt from
the external counter of the Reprographic
Section-Cum-Printing.

BOOK LIMITATIONS
i.
Amount of issue of books to the UG (HONS.)
Students: 2 copies at a time
and last date of return of documents– 15
days and renewal– 2 times @ 15 days (for Home Issue only) and 1
copy within the same day (for
Day Issue only).
ii.
Amount of issue of books to the UG (GEN) Students:
1 copy at a time
and last date of return of document– 15
days and renewal– 2 times @ 15 days (for Home Issue only) and 1
copy within the same day (for
Day Issue only).
iii.
Amount of issue of books to the PG Students:
2 copies at a time
and last date of return of documents– 15
days and renewal– 2 times @ 15 days (for Home Issue only) and 1
copy within the same day (for
Day Issue only).
iv.
Amount of issue of books to the Physically
Challenged Students: 5 copies at a time
and last date of return of documents– 15
days and renewal– 2 times @ 15 days (for Home Issue only) and 1
copy within the same day (for
Day Issue only).
v.
Amount of issue of books to the Teachers
(Full-Time): 5 copies at a time
and last date of return of documents– 30
days and renewal– 2 times @ 30 days (for Home Issue only) and 1
copy within the same day (for
Day Issue only).
vi.
Amount of issue of books to the Teachers
(SACT/ Guest Teacher): 3 copies at a time
and last date of return of documents– 30
days and renewal– 2 times @ 30 days (for Home Issue only) and 1
copy within the same day (for
Day Issue only).
vii.
Amount of issue of books to the Non-Teaching
Staff (Full-Time/ Part-Time/ Contractual): 3
copies at a time and last date of return of documents– 30 days and renewal– 2 times @ 30 days (for Home Issue only) and 1 copy within the same day (for Day Issue only).
Note: Issued
book (s)/ Identity-Cum-Library card (s) are not transferrable.
E.
READING ROOM
i.
Users should maintain silence within the
Reading Rooms to avoid disturbance.
ii.
Users are advised to replace the books in
the stack properly/ remain left on their respective reading tables to avoid inconvenience.
iii.
No user is allowed to carry the non-issued
books outside of the Library premises.
iv.
Users are advised not to remain left the
issued books within the Library premises.
v.
Use of mobile phones or any type of
refreshment is/are fully restricted within the Library premises. Users are
advised to swich off their mobile phones and refrain from any sort of
refreshment to avoid disturbance.
F.
GENERAL RULES
i.
Bags, brief cases, folders, cameras or umbrellas
are not bearable within the Library premises. Users should preserve those
materials in the property counter in front of the Library. They are advised not
to carry/ preserve any type of precious materials within the Library premises
or property counter.
ii.
At the time of preserving those things
they should get a numbered token from the security desk.
iii.
Damage/ loss of such type of materials
will be imposed upon him/her because of their responsibility.
iv.
Newspapers, journals, magazines, pamphlets,
CD/DVD and reference tools are not issuable/ bearable outside of the Library
premises.
v.
Unnecessary papers, personal books or
issued books not to return are not bearable within the Library premises.
vi.
Issued books are to be returned outside of
the Circulation counter.
vii.
Loss of property token liable to be a fine
@ Rs. 30/- and proper evidences will be required for getting back their
properties from the property counter.
viii.
Users are allowed to use their laptop (s)
with free wi-fi facilities within the Library premises with proper evidence.
ix.
Restricted internet searching will be
strictly maintained within the Library premises.
x.
Every users are bound to collect Library
Clearance Certificate from the Librarian at the end of the course of study/ at the
time of their leaving the College returning all due Library materials and Identity-Cum-Library
card.
xi.
Non-member, any researcher or external
users may get Reading Room and xerox facilities only prior to permission from
the Librarian providing valid photo bearing Identity Card (s) with application.
xii.
Any unauthorised or undesirable person (s)
is/are not allowed within the Library premises. If found, they will be liable
to expulsion from the Central Library by the Librarian.

H.
The valid users shall give their
individual attendance (at the time of entry and exit) through online attendance
system available in front of the Central Library gate.
Note: The Library Sub-Committee reserves the right for changing the above
rules as and when necessary.
3.
RULES FOR
LOAN FROM THE DEPARTMENTAL LIBRARY- Departmental Libraries are attached with the concerned Departments. All
Departmental Libraries are established systematically and controlled by the
Departmental Library Sub-Committee. The collections are basically Intra-Library
Loan from the Central Library and Departmental collections. Concerned teachers
and students may get exhaustive services from these Departmental Libraries producing
valid Identity-Cum-Library card. Book Limitation: 1 copy at a time and last date of
return of document– 07 days (for
Home Issue only) and as per necessary. The borrowers shall be responsible for
loss, mutilation or damage of any book (s) borrowed by him/her from the
Departmental Libraries. Same new copy/ photocopy with well-bound of the book
(s) is/ are to be replaced or three times current price will be applied in
these cases for each book if not available in the market.
Note: The Departmental Library books borrowed from the Central Library are
exchangeable time to time as and when needed. The Departmental Library
Sub-Committee reserves the right for changing the above rules as and when
necessary.
4. CENTRAL ACCESSIONING- All purchased books for Central Library,
Departmental Libraries, MRP or in any sort will be subject to Central
Accessioning in the Central Library.
Note: MRP books are to be returned to
the Central Library after completion of the concerned Research Project by the
researcher (s).
Not-returning/Suppression/Thieving of
Library materials in any form will be liable for legal action by the Library
Authority (s).
All are requested to maintain these
above Rules strictly for smooth functioning of the Library services.
Note: This
is issued with the approval of the competent authorities.
